In this time when local schools are facing unprecedented financial challenges often the first budgets cut are those that fund student incentives, scholarships, field trips, activities, and enrichment programs. Bret Harte High School is not immune to these challenges and relies upon the support of committed community members like you to help our students.
Your contribution and support for this event helps us raise the funds needed to better serve our students and community. Last year, $6000.00 in scholarships were awarded to deserving local students because of this event. All funds generated by this event directly benefit students—there are no administrative costs!
How will you help?
Sponsor a table! Businesses and individuals can sponsor a table of 10 guests for $500.00! We will provide a waiter for the table and each of the guests will be entered into the reverse raffle.
Buy a ticket! Want to attend as a guest? Call the number below and we will find you seats at a table already being hosted by a local celebrity.
Donate a prize! We need prize donations of any size or amount for our reverse raffle and for the silent auction.
Volunteer! We need set-up, clean-up, kitchen staff, and bus people.
Donate $$$$$! Money donated to this will be used to offset food, supply, and facility costs, increasing funds for students.

This year, the Bret Harte Academic Boosters is hosting a Celebrity Waiter Dinner to raise money in continued support of our Renaissance incentive program. Traditionally, the Renaissance program has facilitated student incentives throughout the year and provided scholarships to graduates who participated in a variety of academic competitions. We are committed to continuing these programs and hope to increase efforts at improving academic achievement through offering mini-grants to teachers and programs that will support student success.
We’re not asking you to donate money, but we are asking for your time and for you to draw upon the resources and connections that you, as a local celebrity, have fostered in our community.
As a Celebrity Waiter you have the opportunity to provide an amazing night of food and fun for your-self, your spouse or significant other, and eight of your friends or family. Essentially you’ll be responsible for selling eight seats at your table, (each table seats ten, leaving room for you and your spouse), and then “serving” the meal provided.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 6th at Camps Restaurant at Greenhorn Creek in Angels Camp. Camps is providing the tables, linens, and settings, we’re providing the food, we just need you to make it fun and give it class. The evening will also include a silent auction and a reverse raffle where your guests will have a chance to win $2000.00!
Additionally, a “Most Appreciated Waiter” competition will be held throughout the evening to recognize your special contribution to the event. The Celebrity Waiter who collects the most “Tips” during the evening will win a trophy and bragging rights for one full year.
