County Reaffirms Support For Wild & Scenic Mokelumne River

San Andreas, CA....Playing to a standing room only crowd (At least at the start of the meeting) the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Voted 4-1 to reaffirm support for a Wild & Scenic Designation for the Mokelumne River. Many, many community members, elected officials, business groups, conservation groups and more weighed in on the topic. Supervisor Edson was the lone vote on the board in opposition. THIS MEETING WILL BE HELD IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS CHAMBERS 891 Mountain Ranch Rd, San Andreas, California

Any item of interest to the public that is within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board and is not posted on the Consent or Regular agendas may be addressed during the Public Comment period. California law prohibits the Board from taking action on any matter which is not posted on the agenda unless it is determined to be an emergency by the Board of Supervisors. If Public Comment is completed before the 30 minute allotted time period, the Board may immediately move to the Consent Agenda. If Public Comment is not completed during the allotted time period, it will be continued at the conclusion of the Regular Agenda in order to provide an opportunity for the remainder of comments to be heard.

Adopt a Resolution authorizing the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office to apply for funding from the FY14 Homeland Security Grant Program in the amount of $121,073 and authorizing the execution of a grant award and any amendments thereto with the State Of California for the purposes of this Grant; Board action:
5. SHERIFF. Adopt a Resolution authorizing the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office to apply for funding in the amount of $134,503 from the FY14 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) and authorizing the execution of a Grant Award and any amendments thereto with the State of California for the purposes of this Grant; Board action:
6. PUBLIC WORKS. Approve the Subrecipient Agreement between Calaveras County and the Calaveras Council of Governments (CCOG) to administer CCOG approved Public Transportation Modernization Improvement and Service Enhancement Account (PTMISEA) funds for the Calaveras County Transit System; Board action:
7. PUBLIC WORKS. Authorize the Director of Public Works to apply for an FTA Section 5309 Ladders of Opportunity grant to fund the purchase of a minivan for Calaveras Transit; Board action:
8. PUBLIC WORKS. Approve the Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding between Calaveras County and the Calaveras Council of Governments regarding Highway 4 Wagon Trail Realignment; Board action:
9. HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES. Authorize the Board Chair to: 1) Sign Amendment 5 to the Community Transformation Subaward Agreement with the Public Health Institute and Calaveras County Public Health permitting unexpended funds from year 2 (9/30/12 through 9/29/13) in the amount of $48,060 to be expended in year 3 (9/30/13 through 9/29/14); 2) Approve a budget adjustment to the Public Health Services Fiscal Year 2014/15 budget to include an increase of revenue by $48,060 and an increase in expenditures by $48,060 (Budget Adjustment Request attached); Board action:
10. ELECTIONS. Adopt a Resolution authorizing the consolidation of the Copper Cove Rocky Road Community Services District Election with the Statewide General Election to be held on November 4, 2014 pursuant to Elections Codes 10002 and 10401; Board action:
11. ADMINISTRATION. Approve an additional $9,225.00 to the Purchase Order with CSI Telecommunications, Inc. with a new contract expiration date of August 1, 2014; Board action:
