Ebbetts Pass Fishing Report

Ebbetts Pass, Ca...Welcome to Ebbetts Pass Sporting Goods report on fishing and what's working at all our favorite spots along the Highway 4 corridor -- Come and fish our Highway 4 corridor. With the exception of Spicer Reservoir. all of our lakes, rivers and streams are at normal levels. Don.t miss the opportunity to fish our beautiful scenic highway and enjoy camping along your favorite stream or lake. We look forward to seeing you soon. As of now we have fires in our area and smoke free. We have been experiencing a complete crash of our fishing license computer system. It has hit all of California and will not be up and running at our store until they get the system up and running. No idea when this will happen. You can go on line with our Department Of Fish and Wildlife website. Follow the directions and this will let you purchase your license. You can also go to our website and go to fishing resources and click the tab Take Me Fishing. When the tab opens click on the Fishing tab and look for the Get A License tab in upper right hand corner then click on this tab and it will walk you through the steps to purchase a fishing license on line. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, but it was not our fault. Fishing on the Highway 4 corridor has been good fishing. With our rivers experiencing lower than normal water levels, people should try their hand at fly fishing. Stop by our store on how to benefit from low water levels either from a fly rod or a spinning rod. It is not only fun but challenging to fool a trout with a fly....

You can also fly fish at White Pines Lake for the always biting Bluegill Perch. We carry a large selection of fly fishing products, including flies, rods, reels, waders, wading boots, and all the necessary accessories to make your fly fishing adventure a success.
Spicer Reservoir has dropped to approx. 50 plus feet below the ramp so be prepared when you launch a boat. Water levels on the North Fork of the Stanislaus won't be any better than right now. The weather has been warm so the fish will be found in cooler depths. Lake Alpine is full and the dock is in, and fishing has been excellent.
For more local information go to our front page and click on the Fishing Resources. Then click on the Take Me Fishing tab. Then click on the map and in the address tab type in 925 Hwy 4 Arnold CA 95223. The map will show White Pines Lake. From here you can move the map up the Highway to all fishing locations. For rigging information and knots click on the fishing tab and under the learn tab go to to the learn to fish and click on that tab. This will show various ways to tie knots and how to set up rigs for any kind of fishing. Feel free to contact us.
The California Fish and Wildlife will not be giving out specific plant dates this year to avoid excess fishing activity after a trout plant. We will do our best to post any current trout plants that are available to us.

Make sure to purchase your fishing license prior to your trip as we can experience outages and technical problems at any time. You can purchase your fishing license on line. For more information go to the fishing resources tab on our website then click on the Take Me Fishing Tab. At the top of the Take Me Fishing page you will see a icon that reads purchase a fishing license. Make sure the box to the right read CA. This will walk you through all of the steps necessary to purchase your fishing license on line.

WHITE PINES: White Pines Lake, located near Arnold has been slow due to the very hot weather, but you can catch trout if you are willing ti be on the lake at sunrise.
