Cracks Reported In Twain Harte Dam With Water Flowing Through....Operators Concerned About Dam Failure
Sonora, CA...At 10:45am the operator of the Twain Harte Dam reported cracks being observed in the Dam with water flowing through the cracks. Loud booms are being heard near the reservoir...which could signal a potential failure of the dam. The complete warning is enclosed.... (Update as of 11:42am...We just checked in with TCU Command to see if they had been mobilized for potential evacuations etc. At this time it appears to be just a Flash Flood Warning. POTENTIAL FAILURE OF THE DAM.
* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE SULLIVAN CREEK AND AREAS IMMEDIATELY
ADJACENT FROM SULLIVAN CREEK...INCLUDING PORTIONS OF BELLEVIEW. THE
RESERVOIR IS JUST DOWNSTREAM OF THE TOWN OF TWAIN HARTE...WHICH IS
NOT EXPECTED TO BE IMPACTED.
