August Artist Showing at Hovey Tasting Room - The original paintings and giclees
of eight local artists – The Art Sisters – will be featured the month of August at Hovey
Winery Tasting Room, 350 A Main St., Murphys. The Art Sisters consist of Jill Figler,
Sandra Maurer, Pam Purselle, Lori Sturdivant, Carol Goff, Helen Thurston, Susan King
and Peggy Huth who have been meeting and painting together for nearly seven years.
August Artist Showing at Art on Main - The Featured Artist for August is Main is Diana Boyd. Diana is best
known for her big, bright, bold, vivid, and impressionistic-style oil paintings. Diana is also an art instructor, giving
delightful and fun classes to adults and budding artists in both Calaveras and Tuoloumne Counties. Several "Guest
Artists" will be displaying their creative talents and designs at Art on Main during the summer months including
Dereenn DeSchryver -- Jewelry Artist, Carole and Ron Kamerlink -- Copper Artists and Donna Perkins -- Folk Artist
Mondays at Roquefort - We invite you to join us in the garden for our Chefs Market. We
will be pouring tasty wines & creative brews, hosting local Chef's to showcase their latest
organic creations and enjoying live music. Gates open at 5 pm. FREE admission. For

Thursdays at Outer Aisles - Farmers & Artisans Craft Market - The Murphys Farmers
and Artisan Crafts Market will be held each Thursday in the Outer Aisle‘s parking lot from 4
pm until dusk. The cafe will be open and local musicians will be providing the
entertainment. The Market features local produce, baked goods, grass fed meats, artisan

Fridays at Alchemy - Matt Cullen delivers style with pop, country and jazz vocal performances every Friday on the patio from 5:30-8 pm. The music is free, and there's room to dance. Call 209-728-0700 or visit www.mattcullenonline.com for more information.
Fridays and Saturdays at Zucca Tasting Room - "Zucca After Hours" is open 5-8 pm. If you're looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a glass of wine on a Friday or Saturday night, the Zucca garden is your place. We always welcome your picnic items or takeout from area restaurants should you want to make a night of it.
Saturdays in Murphys - Walking Tours of Historic Downtown Murphys are available at no charge (donations gratefully accepted) on Saturday mornings at 10am leaving from the Old Timers Museum. Please contact Jo Sanders at 209-728-3072 to confirm dates and times or make arrangements for large groups.
Saturdays Flight Night at Tanner Vineyards - Every Saturday in August from 6-8PM, kick back in downtown Murphys and enjoy Flight Night at Tanner Vineyards. August 13, 2014 - Music in the Parks with the Black Irish Band -
This free concert is sponsored by the Calaveras Arts Council. The
concert starts at 6:30 p.m. The Community Club will be selling dinner,
prepared by Murphys Historic Hotel, local wines and other beverages.

August 17, 2014 - Native Sons of the Golden West Monthly Breakfast - Chispa Parlor
#139 of the Native Sons of the Golden West will serve an All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast
at the Native Sons Hall from 7:30 to 11:30 am. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage,
biscuits and gravy, orange juice, coffee and hot chocolate will be served. The breakfast is

August 21, 2014 - CLASSIC CAR Nights Every 3rd Thursday at the Murphys Historic Hotel from 5 to 8:30 pm -Money Raffles, Local DJ, Decade Music, Food Available - Bring Your Classic Car - Spectators Welcome - Free to All.
August 22, 2014: Persian Cooking Class at Marisolio Tasting Bar, 6:00 PM. This class is bound to be a sell out, so do register early. New time: Friday evening at 6:00 PM. Maryam Sabet will teach us some basic Persian dishes such as Doog (a yogurt drink), Zereshk Polo with Tah-Diq (Persian Rice dish), Saffron Chicken, Shirazi Salad, Hummus and Baklava.
