Kinematic Automation of Sonora, California investing in new ERP system
Sonora, Ca...Kinematic Automation, a provider of state-of-the art manufacturing systems for the medical and diagnostic industries is investing in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software called EPICORE that will integrate all company functions. ERP is business process management software that allows an organization to use a system of integrated applications to manage the business and automate back office functions. Basically, these systems allow resources to be synchronized and work together to produce products in the most efficient manner. Various functions are connected and work together to allow Kinematic to meet customer needs, improve quality, upgrade employee skills and remain competitive. The ERP training will help the company to plan their workload more effectively and to utilize their resources more efficiently...
The Tuolumne County company was referred to the State’s Employment Training Panel (ETP) by Larry Cope, Director of Economic Development for the Tuolumne Economic Development Authority (TCEDA) which provides workforce and economic development assistance to new and existing companies. TCEDA staff recognized after meetings with the company that their training needs fit the ETP’s statewide program which provides training dollars to California employers. The ETP funds will help Kinematic to meet customer demands and remain competitive.
Kinematic is planning to train 41 employees, mostly in the ERP curriculum, but is also providing Manufacturing Skills and Continuous Improvement training. Manufacturing skills training will be in Machinery Operation, Assembly Procedures and Inventory Control and focus on upgrading workers skills, improving efficiencies and increasing production. The Continuous Improvement training will emphasize analyzing and improving production processes, solving problems, and making improvements to reduce waste and improve quality. Trainees will be mostly manufacturing and engineering staff, although most of the company’s workforce is included in the training.
Kinematic Automation offers services at every stage of the manufacturing process from machine design and development to installation and startup. Their services include the training of operators and maintenance staff for their customers.
The Employment Training Panel is a State Agency that assists companies with their training needs via performance based contracts. Companies provide a plan of their training needs and earn training reimbursements by completing and documenting training.
