Rape Suspect Arrest in Jamestown
Jamestone, CA...On Monday, 9/22/14 about 12:30 A.M. the adult female victim contacted the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office to report she had been sexually assaulted at an acquaintance’s residence in the 18000 block of 5th Avenue in Jamestown. The Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into the incident and a search warrant was served at the residence. The suspect, fifty one year old, Daniel Bartels, was located at the residence and arrested for the sexual assault. A search of the residence was conducted and a small amount of methamphetamine was located as well as a small quantity of small arms ammunition which Bartels is prohibited from possessing due to a prior felony conviction....
Bartels was booked into the Tuolumne County Jail on the above listed charges. Bail was set at one hundred thousand dollars. As of 9/23/14 09:15 hrs Bartels was still in custody at the Tuolumne County Jail.
