Bear Valley Announces Benno Nager as General Manager
Bear Valley, CA...Skyline International Development Inc. is pleased to announce that ski industry expert, Benno Nager, has been appointed general manager of Bear Valley Mountain and Bear Valley Village, which Skyline conditionally purchased in August 2014. In this role Nager will be responsible for all aspects of managing the mountain, lodge and village properties, now named Skyline Bear Valley Resorts, Inc. A ski industry veteran, Nager has more than 30 years of experience previously serving as general manager at Snow Valley Ski Area in California, vice president of Operations at Goldmine/Bear Mountain Ski Area, director of planning for Mammoth Mountain and vice president of development for Intrawest Corp. at Mammoth Lakes and Napa. He spent the past six years in Switzerland as the COO of Andermatt Swiss Alps and founder of Alpine Resort Consulting, where he was leading the master planning and approval process of Switzerland’s largest single ski area development project...
Nager also served as president of the California Ski Industry Association (CSIA), a non-‐profit
trade association representing 29 snow sports areas in California and Nevada. CSIA’s role is to
support resorts by coordinating state and national legislative activities, risk management and
technical training on behalf of the industry.
“Bear Valley hit the jackpot with Benno,” said Bob Roberts, President and CEO at California Ski
Industry Association. “He is a proven leader with an impressive track record of success and one
of the industry's best people to work with.”
During his career, Nager has also served on various committees with the National Ski Areas
Association, a trade association for ski area owners and operators that represents 325 alpine
resorts that account for more than 90 percent of the skier/snowboarder visits nationwide.
“I’m very excited to be part of such a terrific property along with an enthusiastic and supportive
community,” said Nager. “I look forward to continuing Bear Valley’s strong tradition as a family-‐
friendly destination, and working to further its appeal now and in the future.”
