Vallecito Music Boosters donate $10,000 to Calaveras Arts Council

Calaveras County, CA...Vallecito Music Boosters has worked tirelessly with parents and students over the past two decades to support music in Calaveras County. Their efforts filled the foothills with music by sponsoring music scholarships to students from k-college freshmen. Four to five $200 scholarships were granted to students annually to pursue music workshops, purchase of or rental of instruments, sheet music, lesson, and more. Their hard work is and was to encourage students to pursue music both in participation and appreciation. .....

Due to budget cuts in the schools, reduction in music programs, and declining parent volunteerism, the boosters donated $10,000 to the Calaveras Arts Council’s Artist Scholarship Program so that their mission to support and encourage Calaveras youngest to learn, develop and grow their music interests and appreciation will continue. The arts council will honor the Vallecito Music Boosters wishes and add five new $200 scholarships to their existing scholarship program.

Information about the Artists Scholarship Program can be found at www.calaverasarts.org/opportunities.html or call 754-1774 for more information.

The Calaveras Arts Council is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit public benefit corporation operating in the public’s interest whose mission is to support, nourish, and awaken the arts in our community.
