Mind Matters Clinic to Benefit from Open Golf Tournament
Angels Camp, CA...Mind Matters, the Murphys based clinic that treats autism and related disorders, will be one of the beneficiaries when the Wine Barrel Open Golf Tournament is held in Greenhorn Creek on Thursday, November 6. Ninety-two golfers from throughout northern California have signed up for this second annual event. A barrel full of 36 bottles of Calaveras wines will be the grand prize for the winner. There will be a number of runner-up prizes. The presentations will be made during an awards banquet featuring a gourmet meal prepared by Camps Restaurant.....
A major feature of the event will be a raffle for a wide array of prizes including gift baskets from local merchants, fine art, overnight stays, fine dining, and golf packages. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets, and a silent auction, will go to help Mind Matters. The money will be used to help individuals and families cope with the consequences of autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD/ADD), and learning disabilities. Mind Matters volunteers will be selling raffle tickets throughout the event.
Dr. Ryan Thompson, founder of Mind Matters and the clinics CEO and Medical Director, will speak during the banquet. Volunteer members of the clinic’s board of directors and staff will be on hand throughout the day to help spread the word of the clinic and its programs. Mind Matters offers a unique program of treatment, counseling, and education. Most of its clients come from Calaveras, Amador and Tuolumne counties. The clinic also strives to promote a better public understanding of these debilitating health issues. Mind Matters is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and donations to help it extend its services are always welcome.
