TCSO Cause of Death For William Ray Jaspar
Copperopolis, CA...Late afternoon on October 28th a passing motorist saw a deceased William Ray Jaspar, 58 from Riverbank in Lake Tulloch near the Lake Tulloch Bridge. A forensic autopsy was conducted on the deceased, William Jaspar, The pathologist concluded the cause of death was drowning with a contributing factor of a massive stroke. It appears Mr. Jaspar suffered a massive stroke which caused him to fall into the water. The pathologist also concluded had Mr. Jaspar not drowned the stroke would have been fatal within several minutes....
On 10/28/14 about 4:00 P.M. a citizen passing by on the Lake Tulloch Bridge saw what appeared to be a body in the water near the Tuolumne County side of the lake near the bridge. A Deputy was dispatched and located a body submerged about ten feet from shore in approx. ten feet of water. On the shore line near the body, the Deputies found a fishing pole and related fishing gear.
Boat Patrol Units from both Calaveras and Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Offices responded to the scene. They were able to recover the deceased males body. The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division and Coroners Unit have started a Death Investigation. The first step will be to identify the deceased and notify next of kin.
The deceased was taken to a local mortuary pending a forensic examination which should yield additional information regarding cause of death and time of death.
