Avery Woman Arrested For Calaveras Lumber Burglary

Angels Camp, CA...On 11/17/2014 at approximately 7:40 AM, the Angels Camp Police Department responded to 155 South Main Street, Calaveras Lumber, for a reported burglary. A hole had been cut in the fence near the rear of the store and tools were stolen. It appeared the suspect was interrupted in the process of attempting to steal items because numerous items were stacked near the hole in the fence....

On 11/27/2014 at approximately 5:15 AM, the Angels Camp Police Department responded back to Calaveras Lumber for a suspicious circumstance. The reporting party could hear someone throwing things and could see the motion activated lights turning on and off.

Officers responded to Calaveras Lumber and saw a vehicle leaving the parking lot. Officers stopped that vehicle and the driver was identified as 53 year old Avery resident, Tracy Rogers. While speaking to Rogers, officers could see items in the vehicle with Calaveras Lumber price tags on them. Rogers admitted to stealing the items from Calaveras Lumber and also admitted to stealing items from Calaveras Lumber on 11/17/2014.

The vehicle Rogers was driving was registered to one of her family members. The registered owner was contacted and she advised that Rogers took the vehicle without her permission sometime during the night.

Rogers was booked in to the Calaveras County Jail for grand theft, vehicle theft, and possession of burglary tools.
