Angels Camp Announces Winners of Parade of Lights
Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp Business Association held the 24th annual Parade of Lights Nov. 29 in historic downtown Angels Camp, alongside the city’s Christmas of Angels event with an audience of thousands. Visitors from far and wide filled the street along with local residents to enjoy the lighted hour long parade, as well as shopping at Main Street businesses that featured festive treats, a sidewalk sale and local wines..
“This was the largest and best parade we’ve ever had,” exclaimed Bob Menary, parade co-chair with Candy Myers. “We moved the parade up to 5 p.m. this year to show off all of the lights. The event heralded in the Holiday Season for all. We want to thank all of our volunteers who made this evening so special and to everyone that attended.”
First-place awards for the parade were presented to: Floats – the Truelock Family, Vintage Vehicles – Sierra Angels Car Club, Horse Group – Calaveras Saddle Club, Musical Group – Greenhorn Kazoo Band, Business – Sue’s Angels Café, Individual – Barrel of Monkeez, and Other – Altaville Fire Department and Cal-Waste.
“There were so many deserving entries,” said Myers. “Next year we plan to award second place ribbons in every category.”
