Happy Holidays & Thank You From Harmony Ranch
Mountain Ranch, CA...Thank you for your wonderful support over the last few years. Without you we could not be where we are today. Henry J. Kaiser built his industrial empire on the credo, “Find a need and fill it.” Well, as our many delighted students can vouch, we have found a need and we are filling it! As we enter the season of holidays and dreams, we at Harmony Ranch are dreaming of a sustainable organization that adequately fulfills the needs of our community....
We have proven that our program is capable of helping with a broad range of physical and emotional challenges. Harmony Ranch currently serves students with Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behavioral Health issues, to mention a few, and a wide range of physical disabilities. Our program is limited only by the imagination and resources.
Last year, we reported the addition of an assistant instructor to founder Tara Glessman, and that we had served over 100 students. We are pleased to report this year that Tara has been actively pursuing new contacts and alliances within the community. In 2015 we will be working to launch joint programs with local schools, The Mind Matters Clinic, and establishing a program for Disabled Veterans. With each opportunity we are discovering new students that could benefit from our program.
The nature of our lessons often require several instructors for a single student. We are also excited to report this year that to meet our expanding needs, we have expanded our program to three instructors and nine horses. This model allows for the proper instructor to student ratios and allows us the ability to pair each student with the appropriate staff to promote learning and productivity.
As you can imagine, funding this model with sustainable wages and resources requires significant growth in annual contributions. The basis of generating revenue for our program is much like a three legged stool. One leg represents students fortunate enough to fund their lessons, the second leg consists of securing monetary grants. The third and possibly the most impactful leg: community support and donations.
As a tax exempt non-profit, community support and involvement are essential. One hundred percent of your donation goes directly to help the students and horses. Tara has always said that we will keep our lesson prices as low as possible and that all children can ride no matter what their family's economic circumstances are.
A donation of $50 will feed a horse for two weeks
A donation of $160 will sponsor a student for 4 horsemanship lessons
A donation of $500 will cover the cost of new horse shoes for an entire year
A donation of $750 will sponsor camp for a student that otherwise may not be able to attend
You can also help us significantly by sharing this request with your friends and family. The more people are aware of our program, the better our chances of serving the community.
With a special gift of $3500 you can sponsor a horse for an entire year. Sponsorships include a special plaque installed on the horse’s stable to honor your contribution. The staff at Harmony Ranch will work with you to word the plaque in way you find meaningful.
This Holiday Season, please remember the magic that can happen with YOUR help. No one appreciates it more than all of us at Harmony Ranch.
