Join the fun as collaborators Calaveras County Arts Council and Soroptimist International of Calaveras County bring you Chairs for Charity 2015. Admission is $25 – advance ticket sales only. Gather at San Andreas Town Hall from 5PM to 8PM to enjoy a delicious buffet dinner, catered by The Pickle Patch, no host bar, live and silent auctions, appealing raffle items to choose from plus musical chairs fun as Julie Youngblood hosts this crowd pleaser from past years. Auctioneer Terry Weatherby will keep things lively as he leads the bidding for uniquely decorated chairs or seats created by professional artists, local non-profit groups and individuals.
Professional artists and community groups receive 40% of the auction price. Time is of the essence, however. Entries must be at the Arts Council Gallery by Monday, January 12.
Three local judges will choose the “Top Ten” entries to be sold via live auction.
To date the non-profit groups who have entered chairs and will benefit financially from this opportunity are: Angels Camp Museum Foundation, Studio 4 Dance Theatre and Knotty Knitters of Calaveras County,
Members of the two hosting organizations have been busily gathering amazing raffle prizes. A two-night stay at a private residence in Napa, two tickets to any performance at Sierra Repertory Theatre, dinner at local restaurants, a fly-over provided by Kathy Zancanella and much, much more.
