Bank Robbery Umpqua Bank Columbia State Park
Columbia, CA...On 2/5/15 about 11:58 A.M. the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office received notification a robbery alarm at the Umpqua Bank in Columbia State Park. Responding units from the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a robbery had just occurred. A white male adult had entered the bank, brandished a handgun, and demanded cash. The teller handled over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled the bank on foot, and was last seen near Fulton Street and Main Street....
Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Deputies set up a perimeter and our actively searching the area for the suspect.
Columbia Elementary School was placed on “lockdown” for a short time while a search of the area was conducted. The “lockdown” was lifted about 1:15 P.M.
This is a fluid, on going investigation and no other information is available at this time.
