Crime Spree & Arrest In Tuolumne County

Sonora, CA...During the morning of 20 February 2015, Christopher Warfield, 37 of Oakdale, was released from the Tuolumne County Jail, where he had been booked by the Sheriff’s Department on a warrant and for tampering with a vehicle. Warfield is on felony probation out of Stanislaus County for numerous violations, including burglary and possession of stolen property....

After Warfield was released from the Tuolumne County Jail, he observed a subject leaving their residence on West Jackson Street. After the subject left their residence, Warfield burglarized it and left his jacket behind. His jacket was later identified by jail video and staff.

After committing the burglary on West Jackson Street, Warfield was observed sitting in a parked vehicle, which didn’t belong to him, on Linoberg Street. Warfield then made his way to the lower Save-Mart, where he was observed looking into several vehicles.

As officers looked for Warfield, he walked to McCoy’s Tires, where he stole a truck belonging to the owner, which was parked in front of an open bay door. Inside the truck was a loaded handgun. Employees observed Warfield driving off in the truck and gave chase. The employees were able to box Warfield in on Saco Street in Jamestown.

The employees removed Warfield from the truck and called law enforcement. Warfield then attempted to flee and he was tackled by the employees and held until officers arrived. Warfield was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for felony vehicle theft, felony burglary, felony felon in possession of a firearm, and felony violation of probation. It is believed Warfield is also responsible for another burglary in the Jamestown area.
