Yuko “Betty” Keck Farrow, 62 Passed Away On April 26th

San Andreas, CA...Yuko “Betty” Keck Farrow, 62, of San Andreas (and more recently, Stockton) passed away unexpectedly Sunday April 26, 2015 in West Sacramento. She is survived by her ex-husband Robert Farrow, daughter Tami Farrow, son Richard Farrow (and daughter in law, Norma), son David Farrow, brothers Kenny, Paul, and David Keck, sister Louise Keck, nephews Mario and Hunter Keck, and her four beautiful grandchildren: Jestene, Brandon, Ryan, and Mia that were her pride and joy. Yuko immigrated to the United States from Japan with her mother and sister in 1956 at age 4 and grew up in the Bay Area, graduating from Skyline High School in Oakland. While at Skyline, she was on the gymnastics team, specializing in the parallel bars....

She moved to Calaveras in 2004 to be close to her children and resided in Angels Camp, San Andreas, and Valley Springs. She loved zooming around town in her custom electric wheelchair, cruising at top speed wearing her white sunglasses and feeling the sunshine on her face while she ran her errands. She loved animals and felt especially drawn to the peace and beauty of elephants, amassing a large collection of elephant items throughout her life. One of her favorite experiences was riding an elephant and watching baby elephants being cared for up-close and personal in 2010. She loved bright colors, crayon red being her favorite, and wearing fun jewelry (usually with elephants on it!). Most who knew her will remember her for wearing Halloween socks all year round, because of her birthday being on Halloween. Dancing and music were two of her pleasures, but nothing compared to just hanging out with family. Her grandchildren were her greatest pleasure and she loved them with all her heart, bragging about them to anyone who would listen =)

A private viewing was held Thursday April 30, 2015 at San Andreas Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Yuko’s honor to the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) to help aid in research and development of a cure for a disease that affected Yuko in the second half of her life. Yuko enjoyed volunteering at Oakland A’s baseball games on special days that raised funds for the MDA, and providing awareness to others regarding this genetic condition that also affects her youngest son, David.

Yuko was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, and will be forever missed. “A mother holds her children’s hands a while, but their hearts forever”.
1 Corinthians 13:8 – Love never ends.
