San Marcos Man Loses Life In Hwy 108 Accident
Strawberry, CA...On September 21st a 74 year old San Marcos man was driving eastbound on SR-108 west of Georges Dr. at an unknown speed in a left hand bend in the roadway. For an unknown reason he allowed his 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee to veer to the right, off the roadway, and down a dirt/grass enbankment. The Jeep collided with multiple trees and boulders while overturning down the embankment.
As a result of the collision the driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was flown from the scene of the collision to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries.
Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in this collison. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this collision.
