The Concours d' Elegance Goes On & The Kautz Family Salutes The 4-H & FFA Youth!

Murphys, CA...Dear Friends and Supporters of the Concours d'Elegance at Ironstone Vineyards. First and foremost I wanted to let you all know that after a very brave fire fight by so many fire men and women the Butte Fire in under control and the sky's are clear. The staff at Ironstone has been working on the grounds and they will be ready for all the wonderful cars, participants and guest who view them, please come join us Saturday and share in the excitement. But this is only a portion of why I write you this letter.

The Butte Fire destroyed so many peoples lives, their hopes and dreams, their hard work, their past, present and future, their future. Some have only been evacuated some have lost everything. For many there is nothing to go back to.

We say our youth are the future and the Kautz family started this Concours to support them the 4-H and FFA youth that have grown into some of the most respected people in our communities, our future. The past week will test the resolve of our youth as these 4-H and FFA, Grange and Independents go back to their homes, their projects, their futures and find a way to pick up the pieces to move forward. When the fire started 4-H and FFA youth from this community raised their hands to help out, they have been at the evacuation centers, at the fair grounds, feeding and caring for animals for those who are displaced. Some of these youth from families who have lost their own farms and ranches, who have lost their projects, but not their resolve, that is what 4-H and FFA build into our youth.

In this time of rebuilding the future, picking up the pieces and moving on, the members of the 4-H and FFA stand ready to welcome you to this years Concours d'Elegance. I ask only that when you come to support this years event remember that these youths have learned and experienced one of life's hardest lessons over the last week, but one that as the youth of our future they will learn from, rise to the challenge and move forward. This is why the Ironstone Concours d'Elegance was started, to support these groups 4-H and FFA, the youth of our future.

Respectfully,

Stephen Kautz
