Lumberjack Day Is ON For Tomorrow
West Point, CA...Hey everyone in Amador & Calaveras Counties, this Saturday is the 41st Lumberjack Days in West Point! Come join us for the day. The Butte Fire affected us all. Many of us were brought together at the Jackson Rancheria evacuation center. As Red Cross volunteers and evacuees ourselves, we watched one town after another enter the Rancheria and then get to leave.
While we were returning to our homes, the fire was still ripping through Calaveras County. Our beautiful neighboring town of Mountain Ranch is devastated. Eleven members of Central Fires Volunteer Fire Department in Mountain Ranch lost their homes. This Saturday, West Point Fire will be taking donations for them at our Firehouse BBQ Lunch. Hope you can come and help them out.
