Bret Harte High School Campus Locked Down After Threat
Angels Camp, CA...On January 29, 2016 at approximately 09:20 AM, the Angels Camp Police Department received information from Bret Harte High School staff regarding a possible threat to shoot students on campus. The threat was received through third-party information. No specific students or faculty members were named in the threat. The campus was immediately placed on lockdown. Units from the Angels Camp Police Department, Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, and CalFire Law Enforcement searched the campus and found it to be safe and clear. Students and staff were accounted for and notified that it was safe to return to their normally scheduled day at 10:40 AM.
The Angels Camp Police Department takes any threat to the safety of our school campuses and students seriously. Angels Camp Police Department Officers are currently conducting interviews with potentially involved parties.
Anyone with information pertaining to the validity of the threat is encouraged to contact the Angels Camp Police Department at (209) 736-2567 or acpd@angelscamp.gov.
