Chamber Names Mind Matters Nonprofit Of The Year
Murphys, CA...Mind Matters, the Murphys based non-profit clinic that is noted for its innovative treatment of autism and similar disorders, has been named the Nonprofit of the Year by the Calaveras Chamber of Commerce. The award was bestowed at the chamber’s annual dinner in Angels Camp. “There are so many worthwhile nonprofit organizations in our area working together to serve the community,” says Trudy Lackey, Mind Matters Executive Director. “To be singled out to receive this award is extremely gratifying.”
The clinic was founded in 2007 by Dr. Ryan Thompson and his wife Kim as a result of their difficulty in finding help for their son, Mitch, who is autistic. Over the years, the clinic has developed a wide range of successful programs to help individuals and families cope with the consequences of autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD/ADD), and learning disabilities. Its comprehensive approach is unique in the Mother Lode.
“We are fortunate to have developed a strong donor base and to have received a number of grants,” says Lackey. “This makes it possible for us to provide services to many families who need financial aid. Without these generous contributions we would not be able to fulfill our mission.”
Information about Mind Matters and its programs can be found on the clinic’s website, mindmattersclinic.org. The clinic’s phone number is (209) 728-2184. The email address is office@mindmattersclinic.org.
