U.S. Forest Service Hosts Winter Snowshoe Hikes

Sonora, California, February 5, 2016 – The public is invited to come and join in the fun; the Stanislaus National Forest (STF) is hosting free interpretive, snowshoe hikes every Saturday this winter at 10 a.m., weather permitting. These snowshoe hikes begin at the Dodge Ridge courtyard, are typically two miles long and cover mild terrain.

No experience is necessary to participate. The public is advised to dress appropriately for the weather – dressing in layers with waterproof boots, pants, hat, gloves, etc. These are interpretive hikes consisting of several stops. For your comfort, please bring a personal water supply and snacks. Snowshoes can be rented at Dodge Ridge or at other neighboring businesses.
