Ronald 'Ron' Scott Young 1938 - 2016

Copperopolis, CA...Ronald 'Ron' Scott Young, 77, died Friday March 25th at home with his wife following a brief illness. Born and raised in Medford, Mass, Ron leaves behind his wife of 31 years, MJ Young, daughters Debby, Amy, Jen, Kathy, Kara, 6 grandchildren and many, many close friends.

Ron and finn

Ron graduated from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and brought his family to Walnut Creek California in 1973 when transferred to San Francisco by The John Hancock- his employer, where he was the Western Region Pension and Investments Director. Ron's easy going nature, graciousness and sense of humor was unsurpassed. He was adored by any and all who had the pleasure of meeting him. In 2001 Ron and MJ moved to Saddle Creek Golf Resort in the Sierra Foothills. Here he made many new friends, enjoyed golf, yoga, church activities, country living and being a part of his community. Ron was a great story teller and a huge lover of animals, especially his two cats and grand dog. His friendly demeanor and contagious laugh will be sorely missed.

There will be a Memorial Service at 10:00 on Friday, April 8 at St. Michael’s and All Angels Anglican Church, 19632 Mono Way, East Sonora, CA. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life Reception from 1:00 to 3:00 at Saddle Creek Resort in Copperopolis, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions be made in Ron’s name to St. Michael’s and All Angels Anglican Church, PO Box 296, Standard, CA 95373.
