Bear Valley Mountain To Host 11th Annual SLUSH CUP RACE On April 10th

Bear Valley, CA...The 11th Annual Slush Cup, a fun ski race benefitting the Bear Valley Snowsports Education Foundation (BVSEF), will be held on Sunday, April 10th at Bear Valley Mountain. This BVSEF fundraiser event is open to the public to participate and designed for a rider’s skill level to be an intermediate and above. Almost always true to the name, the Slush Cup will be a slushy snow condition head-to-head racing event historically held under warm and sunny skies on Sunday of the ski area’s closing weekend. Each year the Slush Cup provides a competitive throw down for alpine skiers, snowboarders and Telemark enthusiasts. There are various age groups for both Male and Female categories in each discipline based on being an alpine or non-alpine competitor and the fastest run of the Finals declares the winner in each division.

Every annual Slush Cup event starts with morning qualifying where racers are seeded for the afternoon Finals based on the their fastest of two runs of the morning’s dual action. The Finals then position the fastest racer’s best time with the second fastest racer’s best time and so on down through the entire field. All this makes for exciting and close races right up until the last pairing has their second and final run.

Tax deductible entry fees are $35.00 for adults and $25.00 for kids 18 and under and includes an official Slush Cup t-shirt and raffle tickets for a chance to win some great prizes. Interested individuals may register in advance by going to www.TeamBV.com or you can register on race day with a $10.00 per racer surcharge. Call

Mark Phillips at (209) 977 0769 for more information.

The BVSEF is a local not-for-profit organization committed to promoting snowsports education, athlete development and citizenship excellence with young Bear Valley snowsports athletes and to youth organizations on the Hwy. 4 corridor.
