CUSD Board Back In Action On April 19th

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras Unified School District Board will be back in action on April 19th in the board room at the district office in San Andreas. The meeting gets underway for the public with the open session at 6pm. The full agenda is enclosed....

Any individual who requires disability-related accommodations, including auxiliary aids and services, in
order to participate in the board meeting, should contact the Superintendent in writing. (Gov. code

Members of the Public may request an item be placed on the agenda. The agenda request form is
available on the CUSD website, www.calaveras.k12.ca.us, under forms, public. Agenda requests must be
received at the District Office no later than 9:00 a.m., Monday, one week before the Board meeting.

h) Overnight Events
1. Toyon/Calaveras Archery
The Toyon Middle School and Calaveras High School Archery Clubs would like to attend the Fresno Safari Shoot hosted by the Fresno Field Archers on April 29 through May 1. They will be traveling in personal vehicles with accommodations at a motel. Coaches David Allain and Maritza Chavez will chaperone, along with three parents. Funding is from the archery donation account.
i) Student Accident Insurance
Annually, the District provides student and athletic accident insurance information to parents/guardians of all CUSD students, providing them with the opportunity to purchase student insurance for their child(ren) at their own expense. Staff is recommending continued service for the 2016-17 school year through Student Insurance. All benefits meet Education Code requirements, and there is no increase in the rates.

1. Approval, Retirement of Teacher
It is requested the Board approve the retirement of Linda Dinwiddie, Math teacher at Calaveras High school effective the end of the 2015/2016 school year.

2. Job Share, Mokelumne Hill Elementary
It is recommended the Board approve a job share between Dan Stoddard and Michelle Besmer for the 2016-2017 school year. It is a 50/50 share, with Michelle Besmer serving as Mokelumne Hill Elementary school principal the other 50%.

3. Declaration of Need for Fully Qualified Educators for the 2016-17 School Year (34-36)
There may be an insufficient number of certificated persons who meet the district’s specific employment criteria for the certificated positions that may arise. In order for the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to issue a waiver or limited assignment credential, a Declaration of Need must be on file with the Commission for the 2016-17 school year. It is recommended the Board adopt the Declaration of Need for the 2016-17 school year.
