Calaveras Jail Inmate Injures Correctional Staff

San Andreas, CA...On April 19, 2016 at 1030 hours, Calaveras County inmate Gray Bond Gracy of Hayward (28 years old) exited his assigned jail cell located on the top tier, jumped over the security rail, and landed on the bottom tier. Correctional officers arrived immediately to provide assistance, but Gracy began to physically resist them. Correctional staff attempted to calm Gracy until an ambulance and fire crews arrived to provide medical aid. Inmate Gracy became more resistant and combative upon their arrival. Fortunately, the Jail was conducting training at the time and had additional staff.
