There Is A New Sheriff In Town....Sheriff Rick DiBasilio Officially Sworn In Today

San Aandreas, CA….Sheriff Rick DiBasilio was officially sworn in today in front of the Sherriff's headquarters building. Sheriff DiBasilio had a large group of family, friends, Sheriffs from neighboring counties, CHP Commander, Angels Camp Police Chief and a large law enforcement, dignitaries and elected officials were on hand as he was elevated to the top law enforcement position in the county.

On Tuesday the Calaveras Board of Supervisors appointed him as interim Sheriff to fulfill the remaining term of the late Sheriff Kuntz. He will have to run for reelection in 2018. Calaveas County Sheriff's Capt. Jim Macedo administered his oath of office.

Congratulations to Sheriff DiBasilio. We have uploaded video of the ceremony as well as a few photos. The video starts a bit shaky and then settles down. It includes his comments, his wife pinning his new badge on his uniform and also the proclamation from the Board read by Supervisor
