BUTTE FIRE RECOVERY-HAZARD TREE REMOVAL - On Private Property
WHAT ARE THOSE WOODEN STAKES?

Tetra Tech personnel will be out in the Butte Fire Area beginning tomorrow posting Right of Entry Permits (ROE) on wooden stakes. Stakes will be placed at the most visible entrance to private properties with hazardous trees that may impact county maintained roads and pose a threat to the traveling public. The County is asking Property owners to sign the ROE and return it ” NO LATER THAN JULY 22nd.”. The deadline is fast approaching.

Only 10 Days to get Right of Entry Permits signed and returned to the Calaveras County Public Works Department.
A Town Hall Meeting will be held on Wednesday July 13, 2016, at the Mountain Ranch Community Center in Mountain Ranch from 5-7pm. There will be an Arborist there to answer questions along with Jeff Crovitz director of Public Works, and a representative from Tetra Tech Inc. Personnel will be on site to assist property owners fill out and turn in their ROE. Property owners are asked to provide their parcel number and an ID.

This work is funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CAL OES) and there is no cost to property owners. However, laws and rules governing this funding prohibit a duplication of funding benefits. If insurance covers debris removal, reimbursement to the County will be owed. Property owners will not be liable for any amount not covered by their insurance.

Tree removal work will be limited to those trees that are hazardous to the public using the County’s roadways. Other trees on private property will remain the property owners’ responsibility. If you have any question regarding hazard tree removal you may call the hazard tree HOT LINE at: 209-754-6767

Private Property owners that choose not to have their hazardous trees removed remain liable for damage caused by hazardous trees falling onto County Roads
