Stanislaus National Forest Welcomes An Acting District Ranger
Sonora, CA...The Stanislaus National Forest welcomes Ray Cablayan as the Acting District Ranger on the Calaveras Ranger District.
Cablayan, who has served as a Civil Engineer since 2008 on the Stanislaus National Forest, will now be
taking on the leadership role on the Calaveras Ranger District as the Acting District Ranger.
“I am excited for this new opportunity and look forward to representing the Calaveras Ranger District”
says Cablayan. During his time on the forest, Cablayan has taken on notable projects, including a recent detail as the lead engineer for the Rim Fire Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) implementation and salvage effort.
He led a team of engineers, technicians, and road crews. Ray successfully overcame the monumental
challenge of installing road treatments on over 400 miles of roads within the burned area, and serving as Engineer Representative on the salvage sales that followed. Cablayan is a graduate of the University of the Pacific where he received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. In his spare time he is a runner, cyclist and rock climber.
Teresa McClung, Calaveras District Ranger, recently accepted a Deputy Forest Supervisor position on the
Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit and will be greatly missed by the forest and the community.
