Calaveras Department Of Public Works Request For Bids: Traffic Striping Of County Roads
San Andreas, CA...The County of Calaveras Department of Public Works is requesting bids for traffic striping of county roads between 2017-2020. Notice is hereby given that the Calaveras County Department of Public Works will receive sealed bids for the work shown and described in the specifications and associated documents for the subject work.
Work shall include the construction of edge line and centerline traffic striping on County roads. The services must be provided for a one (1) year term, with an option for up to three (3) additional one year contract extensions. The payment of prevailing wage is a requirement.
All work specified by this contract shall be done per CalTrans 2010 Standard Plans and Specifications, as modified by this request for bids. Attention is directed to Section 84, “Traffic Stripes and Pavement Markings” of the Standard Specifications.
The Contractor shall possess at a minimum either a Class A General Engineering Contractor or C-32 Parking and Highway Improvement Contractor license at the time this contract is awarded. Failure of the bidder to obtain the required license before award of contract constitutes a failure to execute the contract. BACKGROUND
The County of Calaveras maintains striping on approximately 475 miles of the 689 miles within the County-maintained system, and on all 48 miles of roads within Community Service Area No. 1 (CSA 1), Rancho Calaveras. The County requires the use of waterborne paint for the traffic striping of its roads, all of which require periodic re-striping. The County typically restripes these roads every two to three years depending upon need, and also requires the construction of new striping on recently paved roads and repaired roads. No guarantee is made as to the amount of work that will be assigned as a function of this contract. Note that separate invoicing will be required for striping on County roads and CSA 1 roads.

Contractors interested in providing striping services in the fulfillment of this contract can obtain a bid packet (Bid Book, Special Provisions, Road List and Sample Contract) from Calaveras County Department of Public Works, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas for a Non-Refundable Fee of $25 per set, between the hours of 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday-Friday, or by calling (209) 754-6401.
