Pioneer Man Arrested For Attempted Murder

San Andreas, CA...On 10/18/16 at approx. 02:50 a.m. the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office received a report of a marijuana robbery on Bummerville Rd near West Point,CA. Deputies responded to the scene and took a report from one victim who reported the following information. The victim reported that a suspect arrived at the location while the victim was working trimming marijuana.

The suspect, later identified as Kevin Louis Cucuk, approached the victim and pointed a gun at the victim’s face and ordered the victim not to move. The suspect then ordered the victim to walk a short distance away and sit down. The suspect placed a large amount of marijuana onto a tarp. The suspect ordered the victim to get a nearby motorcycle described as a “dirt bike” and bring it to the suspect. The victim complied and the suspect took both the dirt bike and the marijuana. The victim believed he could hear the suspect talking to another person who was nearby yet the victim could not see the other person. The owner of the marijuana reportedly arrived within one minute of the robbery occurring. Both the owner and the victim walked toward the back of the property where the suspect left and they observed a person on a bike. Shots were reportedly fired from two different types of firearms in the victim’s direction.

The victim estimated the loss of marijuana at $5,000 and the motorcycle was estimated at $2,500. One of the victims in this case positively identified Kevin Cucuk as the suspect person who committed the robbery and other crimes related to this case and investigation. On 10/22/16 at approx. 7:42 p.m. CCSO Deputies located Cucuk hiding at a residence on Pine Cone Lane in West Point. He was taken into custody for the robbery as well as attempted homicide, kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Cucuk was transported and booked into the CCSO Jail. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office has received information that Cucuk has been involved in other robberies of marijuana in the area. If anyone has been the victim of a crime committed by Cucuk please contact the CCSO Investigations Division at (209) 754-6564 or (209) 754-6500. Cucuk’s photo is attached below.
