Calaveras Recovers Receives $10,000 Contribution From AT&T

Calaveras County, CA...A $10,000 donation was received this week by Calaveras Recovers from AT&T to help purchase building materials that will be used to build homes for uninsured and underinsured Calaveras County residents displaced by the Butte fire.

“We are thankful for the support today of AT&T,” said Allen Sender, president of Calaveras Recovers. “We are in the middle of building two homes and starting construction on several more. This money will help us purchase much needed construction supplies..”

During their Nov. 22 board meeting, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors recognized AT&T for their assistance in helping those affected by the Butte Fire in 2015. The fire burned more than 70,000 acres, destroyed 475 residences, 343 outbuildings, damaged 45 structures, and claimed 2 lives over 18 days.

“AT&T will continue to serve the California communities affected by wildfires,” said Julie Tone, AT&T California representative as she presented the $10,000 check. “The Butte Fire was devastating and we hope that supporting Calaveras Recovers will help the affected families to begin to rebuild their homes and lives.”

Calaveras Recovers is a group of non-profit, faith-based, civic, government and other organizations operating as the long-term recovery team for people affected by the Butte Fire. The group’s main focus is to help those families who's homes were uninsured or underinsured and destroyed by the wildfire. Calaveras Recovers operates under the 501(c)3 fiscal sponsorship of the Amador Community Foundation.

Monetary donations can be made directly online viawww.CalaverasRecovers.org or mailed to P.O. Box 395, Mountain Ranch, CA 95246.
