Winter Closure Hours For James E. Roberts Bridge

Tuolumne County, CA...With New Year’s Weekend approaching, Caltrans is adjusting the night closure hours for the State Route 120 (SR-120)/James E. Roberts Bridge project in anticipation of increased holiday travel.

The bridge is typically closed Sunday night through Thursday night, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. It is under one-way traffic control the remainder of the time. Here is the construction schedule for the upcoming New Year’s Weekend:

The bridge will remain open, with one-way traffic control, from Friday night (December 30) through Sunday night (January 1);

The bridge resumes its closure schedule Monday night (January 2), and it will close nightly next week through Thursday night.

The bridge will remain under one-way traffic control into November 2017, as part of the $20.8 million SR-120/Roberts Bridge Project. Workers are replacing the bridge deck, and retrofitting the structure for an additional 40 years of service. Motorists should expect 15 minute delays during one-way traffic control.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/ or materials and construction related issues. For further information, please visit www.dot.ca.gov/dist10/JamesRobertsBridge/index.htm
