NORTHERN LAKE COUNTY...NORTHEAST FOOTHILLS/SACRAMENTO VALLEY...
NORTHERN SACRAMENTO VALLEY...NORTHERN SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY...
SHASTA LAKE AREA / NORTHERN SHASTA COUNTY...SOUTHERN

* THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

* AN ATMOSPHERIC RIVER, A NARROW CORRIDOR OF CONCENTRATED
MOISTURE, WILL PRODUCE A PROLONGED PERIOD OF MODERATE TO HEAVY
RAIN ESPECIALLY THROUGH EARLY MONDAY. SNOW LEVELS EXPECTED TO
REMAIN ABOVE PASS LEVELS DURING THE HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION.

* RAINFALL TOTALS FROM SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EXPECTED
TO RANGE FROM 4 TO 6 INCHES IN THE CENTRAL VALLEY, 4 TO 8
INCHES IN THE COASTAL AND SHASTA MOUNTAINS, AND 7 TO 16 INCHES
IN THE NORTHEAST FOOTHILLS, MOTHERLODE, WESTERN PLUMAS
MOUNTAINS AND SIERRA NEVADA.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

* Flood Warning for Small Streams in...
Northeastern Sutter County in central California...
Plumas County in northern California...
Alpine County in northern California...
Placer County in central California...
Southeastern Shasta County in northern California...
Southern Lassen County in northern California...
Amador County in northern California...
Tuolumne County in northern California...
Northeastern Sacramento County in central California...
Northeastern Stanislaus County in central California...
El Dorado County in northern California...
Calaveras County in northern California...
Eastern Tehama County in northern California...
Butte County in northern California...
Northeastern Glenn County in central California...
Sierra County in northern California...
Yuba County in central California...

* Until 600 AM PST Tuesday

* At 603 AM PST, reporting gauges indicate several streams within
the warning area rising rapidly. Over and inch of rain has fallen
in the valley with several inches of rainfall in the foothills and
Sierra over the last 24 hours.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Roseville, Redding, Chico, Folsom, Rocklin, Paradise, Oroville,
Grass Valley, Marysville, Sonora, Chester, and Cisco. Several
rivers, streams and tributaries throughout the Sierra foothills
including the Feather, Yuba, American, Tuolumne and Cosumnes
rivers are expected to crest this afternoon topping bankfull in
many areas. Local roadway flooding is likely as well.

Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 8 inches are forecast in the
warning area of the Sierra and foothills over the next two days.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
