Remarks By President Trump At Signing Of H.J. Resolution 41

Washington, DC...THE PRESIDENT: Well, thank you very much. This is a big signing, a very important signing. And this is H.J. Resolution 41, disapproving the Securities and Exchange Commission's rule on disclosure of payments by resource extraction issuers. It's a big deal. And I want to thank Speaker Paul Ryan for being here. He's been tremendous. Jeb Hensarling very, very important and really worked hard. Representative Bill Huizenga and all of the friends -- Peter -- all of my friends are up here. And we really appreciate it.

This is one of many that we've signed, and we have many more left. And we're bringing back jobs big league, we're bringing them back at the plant level; we've bringing them back at the mine level. The energy jobs are coming back. And it's -- you see what's going on with the stock market. They know that we know what we're doing, so it's going up.

So I think what I'm going to do, if I might, can I ask you to say a few words?

REPRESENTATIVE HUIZENGA: My pleasure, Mr. President.

THE PRESIDENT: Bill Huizenga.

**: So this is the first CRA that has been signed by the President. I'm very pleased to be the author of House Joint Resolution 41. Over 20 years, there's been 56,000 rules that have been put in place with very little legislative input or oversight, and it's time that changed. And I'm very thankful to the President, the Speaker, our Chairman Hensarling for being able to make this happen. And we think this is a good first step. So I'm very pleased. Thank you.

THE PRESIDENT: I'll sign it -- we may have to give him the pen. Congratulations. Great job. You've done a fantastic job.

(The President signs H.J. Resolution 41.)

THE PRESIDENT: A lot of people going back to work now. (Applause.) He's working on Obamacare -- it's going to be very soon. Right?

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you all very much.

      Ready For A Republican Recession?
Posted on: 2017-02-14 20:01:22   By: Anonymous
History shows a Republican administration has caused a recession for the last 3 Presidents.
Dump is following the same actions that lead to recession, as the last Republican Presidents have.
It stands to reason (lost to most Alt -rightees) that there will be another recession within 2 years.

Janet Yellen remarked that the financial outlook is not as certain as it was before the election. Many suggest that the Dump economic policies will cause world wide economic chaos .

It is foolhardy to get rid of Dodd-Frank, and other regulations which do add stability to world economics.
A repeat of deregulation which caused the 2008 recession is still felt by many countries as well as the US.
To add another recession to the world's economic health would be a serious event.

The Republicans only care about more economic gains for it's .01%
It is a sad commentary, however it is a fact. They are only concerned with enriching the few at the ruination of the rest.

Do you really think Dump is concerned about the 99%? if you do, you've been played.
In a short time, you will see the folly of tax cuts once again for those who don't need them, and the debt this creates. After 35 + years of Reaganomics , with many tax cuts , the result is clear, trickle down economics is a fraud. More are just another folly, which will cause another recession.

The swallows haven't been as numerous in their migrations to San Juan Capistrano since obama's been on office.

Had to look up exactly what this meant:
A CRA is a Congressional Review Act. The law empowers Congress to review, by means of an expedited legislative process, new federal regulations issued by government agencies and, by passage of a joint resolution, to overrule a regulation within 60 days of enactment.
Section 1504 of the Dodd-Frank Act, which HJR 41 repeals, required publicly-traded oil, natural gas, coal and mineral companies to disclose payments made to foreign governments.
So, it seems Trump has set it up so a US corporation can pay a foreign government money in order to get a contract and not have to share the fact it did so.
If I am interpreting this correctly, US corps. can now bribe foreign govts in order to win a bid and no one will be wiser.
This doesn't seem to create jobs on our shores, but it sure does seem a way to help big business make more money elsewhere.
