San Andreas, CA...(Forum Has Been Canceled As Measure B Has Been Pulled) The Calaveras County Democratic Central Committee (CCDCC) is hosting a forum regarding Measure B, the voter initiated initiative-measure that seeks to prohibit the cultivation, manufacturing, processing, and delivery of marijuana for all purposes within all unincorporated parts of Calaveras County, including a ban on the operation of marijuana dispensaries. The forum will take place on Tuesday, March 28th at 6:30 p.m. at The San Andreas Town Hall.

Come join the Calaveras County Democrats to hear pros and cons on the proposed "Cannabis Ban” (Measure B) that will be put to voters in a special election in May of this year (ballots will be mailed to all registered county voters the second week of April). Speakers will include:
Bill McManis, proponent of the ban and author of Measure B
Rebecca Turner, Calaveras County Clerk/Recorder & Registrar of Voters
Professor Thomas Pogue, Associate Director of the Center for Business and Policy Research, Eberhardt School of Business, University of Pacific and co-author of an impact study of cannabis cultivation in Calaveras
Caz Tomaszewski, President, Calaveras Cannabis Alliance
Manuel Lopez, Calaveras County Administrative Officer (interim)
Speakers will address what is included in the measure and how they believe it will affect county policy, economics, public safety, land use, etc. Ms. Turner will outline the special election process, which has never occurred previously in the county.
