Burson Man Strikes & Bites Girlfriend. Arrested On Torture, Battery & Domestic Violence Charges

Burson, CA...On 02/22/17 at approx. 10:30 PM, The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 5700 block of Heron Lane in Burson for a domestic violence altercation. Sheriff Deputies learned that 34-year-old suspect Nolan Alan Hilyard and his 53 year old live in girlfriend were involved in a physical confrontation. Nolan Hilyard allegedly repeatedly struck and bit the victim on the head and face causing severe injuries. The victim was able to flee the residence to seek help. Emergency personnel responded and treated the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital for the severity of her injuries. Sheriff Deputies attempted to make contact with Nolan Hilyard at the time of the report with negative results.




On the same date at 5:30 PM the Calaveras County Swat Team, Calaveras County Deputies, Angels Camp Police and Canine attempted to locate suspect Hilyard at the residence on Heron Lane. Sheriff Deputies repeatedly used a PA announcement for Hilyard to exit the residence with negative results. Swat Personnel made entry into the residence and located Nolan Hilyard. Nolan Hilyard was arrested without incident and transported to jail.

Nolan Hilyard is currently being held in the Calaveras County Jail on the charges of 203PC (Mayhem), 206PC (Torture), 243(d) PC (Battery Serious Injury), and 273.5(a) PC (Domestic Violence); Bail $1,030,000.
