Teamsters Applaud Presidential Permit For Keystone XL

Washington, DC...The Teamsters Union is pleased with the Trump administration's prompt issuance of a presidential permit today for the Keystone XL Pipeline. The $8 billion project is projected to create more than 42,000 American jobs building critical energy infrastructure. "This project will put thousands of Americans, including Teamsters, to work in good union jobs that will support working families," said Jim Hoffa, Teamsters General President.

The KXL Pipeline system in the U.S. and Canada was initially proposed in 2008. The project will produce well-paying jobs, in addition to providing economic benefits to local communities and improving energy security.

The Teamsters Union prioritizes the creation of good jobs through much-needed infrastructure development. In 2015, the union unveiled its "Let's Get America Working!" campaign to bring politicians from both sides of the aisle together to prioritize building, maintaining and repairing our nation's infrastructure, while creating middle class jobs.

Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents 1.4 million hardworking men and women throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Visit www.teamster.org for more information. Follow us on Twitter @Teamsters and "like" us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/teamsters.
