New Calaveras Transit Schedules Take Effect April 3rd

Calaveras County, CA...All new bus schedules can be seen at www.calaverastransit.com. Highlights of the new Calaveras Transit routes and schedules include more frequent service on a main route, the Red Line, from La Contenta Plaza at Highway 26 and Vista del Lago Drive to San Andreas, Angels Camp, and Columbia College.

While the new transit system will offer improved connections between feeder routes and the Red Line and more convenient times, it’s important for riders to know that advance calls to customer service will be required for some routes.

“The changes in the transit schedules are extensive,” said Deborah Mullen, Transit Manager, “so I want everyone to know that they can call the customer service office in San Andreas to get personalized trip planning and to make reservations. The number is 209-754-4450.”

The Blue Line will run five time daily between Arnold and Angels Camp. The Purple Line will run four times daily between San Andreas and Jackson Raley’s. With a call to customer service by 4 p.m. the previous day, the Purple Line bus can extend to Mountain Ranch and Rail Road Flat.

Advance requests required
The Green Line will connect West Point with Mokelumne Hill and San Andreas on Mondays and Wednesdays with advance reservations by 4 p.m. the previous work day. Reservations will also be required for the Brown Line, the daily late bus between San Andreas and West Point, frequently used by students participating in after-school activities.

In addition to four regular daily runs, the Copper Line buses will accommodate requests for rides from the residential streets off Copper Cove Drive (Feather Drive, Black Creek Drive, Cheyenne Road, and Sawmill Road) and south on Little John Road as far as Moccasin Court. These requests will need to be
made at least two hours in advance.

The base fare remains $2 for travel within a zone, or discounted fares of $1 for persons 65 and older and eligible people with a disability. Passengers traveling into another zone pay an additional 25 cents per zone.

Delta Gold Line and Saturday Hopper
The Delta Gold Line runs twice daily on weekdays between San Andreas and Stockton, providing convenient travel to the Amtrak station, Delta College, and shopping. The fare for the Delta Gold Line is $5 each way or a 10-ride pass can be purchased for $40.

The route of the Saturday Hopper has convenient stops in parking lots between Valley Springs and Arnold, but will stop at any safe place along the route. For pick-up between stops, an advance call is helpful to alert the driver. The Saturday Hopper is great for traveling to community events. The base fare for the Hopper is $3, the discounted fare $1.50, with 25-cent zone fares due in San Andreas and Angels Camp. The monthly pass is valid on Saturdays at no additional cost.

All schedules are on the Calaveras Transit website. The Calaveras Transit facebook page often has service updates and news. Call customer service at 209-754-4450 with any questions about the bus schedules.
