Distraction From Oversized Load Leads To Rear End Collision

San Andreas, CA...On 06/26/2017 at approximately 0802 hours, Party-1 (Soria) was driving Vehicle-1 (Ford) northbound on SR-49 north of Pool Station Rd. at approximately 35 miles per hour. Party-2 (Scronce) was driving Vehicle-2 (Chrysler) northbound on SR-49 to the front of Vehicle-1. An over-sized vehicle that was traveling southbound in the passing lanes, was being escorted by CHP units with emergency lights activated. Party-1 was looking at the approaching units when traffic proceeding northbound began to slow for the over-sized load. Party-2 began to slow her vehicle. When Party-1 looked forward he noticed Vehicle-2 was slowing. Party-1 applied the vehicle-1's brakes but was unable to stop in time. Subsequently the front of the vehicle-1 struck the rear of vehicle-2.

Several parties were taken to Mark Twain Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Alcohol and/or Drugs are not considered a factor in this collision.
