Robert Bass III, Found Deceased & Recovered By Search Groups & Dive Team
Sonora, CA...Monday morning the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team along with the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Dive Team, Mobile Field Force Unit and Aero Squadron were able to safely re enter the river in search of Robert Bass III. Robert was reported to have fallen into the river below from the Tri-Dam Powerhouse on July 18th as he attempted to climb a fence.
That afternoon at 12:48, Robert was located and recovered from the river by swift water and dive teams. The official cause of death will be determined by an autopsy.
We would like to express our thanks to Tri-Dam ,PG&E and the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office for their assistance throughout the planning and completion of the search.
We send our deepest heartfelt condolences to Robert's family and friends.
