Calaveras Community Foundation Receives Donation from Pacific Gas and Electric Company

Angels Camp, CA...Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) recently presented Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) with a generous $5000 donation to benefit The Career and Technical Training (C&TT) Scholarship Fund. The Career and Technical Training Scholarship Fund helps to support alternative forms of higher education, including two-year community college and trade school certificates. In 2017, six students each received $1500.00 scholarships. C&TT scholarships were awarded graduates of Calaveras High School, Bret Harte High School and Mountain Oaks Charter School.

Varied fields of study will be pursued as students work towards obtaining two-year degrees or certificates. Social work, animal sciences, automotive mechanics, cosmetology, medical field and natural resources are the fields these graduates have chosen. CCF is very proud of these Calaveras County students and wishes them every success.

“At PG&E, we believe in helping each generation of students in the areas where our employees live and work by giving them opportunities to pursue higher education,” said Dave Meier, Senior Manager of PG&E’s Stockton Division.  “We take great pride in the community partnerships we have created, like CCF, and are grateful for the opportunity to acknowledge and support citizens and organizations committed to building a better California together.”

CCF administers the funds that make these C&TT scholarships possible. Since the fund’s inception in 2010, more than $55,000 has been awarded. Business partners like PG&E, as well as numerous individuals and other local businesses earmark their donations to benefit the C&TT fund. CCF is most thankful to PG&E for their continued loyal support.
