WWII Era Grenades, Mortar Rounds & Ordnance Rendered Safe By Calaveras Bomb Squad
La Grange, CA...Tuolumne County Sheriff's Deputies received assistance from The Calaveras Bomb Squad yesterday morning at the Lake Don Pedro Storage Facility in La Grange to remove items of military ordnance. The WWII era explosives were found by a woman cleaning out the unit of her deceased father.
The Bomb tech took possession of the 3 Japanese grenades, 2 American rifle grenades, 2 large mortar rounds, 3 pieces of Japanese ordnance, and a 20mm round to be disposed of in a safe manner.
If you come across any type of explosive device, do not touch or move the items. Call authorities so the materials may be rendered safe or disposed of properly.
