Five Year Old Michael Boesen has Succumbed to Injuries Sustained in October 17th Collision

Coulterville, CA...On October 17, 2017, at approximately 6:18 pm, 28 year old Coulterville resident, Sarah Cahoon, was driving a 2002 Mazda MPV, eastbound on State Route 132, west of Piney Creek Road, at an unknown speed. Cahoon allowed her vehicle to travel over the right shoulder and up an embankment south of the road edge. Cahoon's vehicle then overturned multiple times back onto the roadway. Cahoon was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle then rolled over Cahoon before it came to rest back on its wheels. Cahoon was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. 5 year old passenger, Michael Boesen, was also not wearing a seat belt and was thrown approximately 50 feet from the vehicle. Boesen was flown to UC Davis to be treated for major injuries. 9 year old passenger, Jasmin Povio, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and only sustained minor injuries. This collision is still under investigation. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor, autopsy pending.

** UPDATE 11/07/17 **

On November 6, 2017, passenger Michael Boesen succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at UC Davis. Sarah Cahoon's autopsy confirmed that alcohol was a factor in the collision.

Why was only one passenger wearing a seatbelt? This just indicates that seatbelts do save lives.

I cringe everytime I see a touching memorial or tribute for Sarah Cahoon.
She made a choice to drink and drive, and she killed her child.
She doesn’t deserve any kind rememberances.

Yeah I totally understand. It sounds like murder to me. If she lived through it, she surely would rot in prison.

and the comradeship of the drunks trying to defend her...unbelievable

This is a tragedy beyond words, obviously, but spewing hate towards this person will do no one any good. This poor little baby died and now his sister must live the rest of her life without her brother or her mom. Regardless of the stupid mistakes her mom made! She paid the ultimate price for her mistake (her life) My God people....give this family some peace and let them grieve!!
