Sonora & Tioga Passes Reopen, Ebbetts Remains Closed Due to Icy Sections

Pinecrest, CA...Sonora Pass(SR-108) is now open as of 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Ebbetts Pass (SR-4) remains closed due to the accumulation of ice on the road. Our maintenance crews report that they will try to keep Sonora Pass open as long as possible until the next storm and conditions remain safe. Ebbetts Pass likely to remain closed until after the next series of storms passes through.

Please enjoy the peek "Behind the Gate" of Ebbetts Pass provided by our Camp Connell Maintenance Supervisor, Mike Johnson. As you can see, it is time to start carrying chains and being prepared for winter conditions by carrying extra food, water, blankets, etc. when you travel in the mountains.

For the latest highway information please visit the Caltrans QuickMap site at quickmap.dot.ca.gov or call the Road Condition Hotline at 1-800-427-ROAD (7623).

Quit wasting this damn state's money and keep the passes closed.
Hells Bells, the way King Jerry throws money around is a waste. That money that keeps the passes open this time of year can be used for good purposes like feeding and housing many a families of illegal democrats. For goodness sake, those little illegal democrats (King Jerrie's slave labor) need food before they go to school, or help Dad mow lawns, blow leaves and pull weeds.

Well drunkards, you're driving after having a good old time has killed another one. (Hwy 132, mother was DUI) The little boy who will forever be 5, died from his injuries.
Poor little fella never had a chance, and his poor sister who was wearing her seat-belt will forever have memories of her mother and her 5 year old brother being thrown from their vehicle.

RIP little guy
