Boeding Elected to Angels Camp City Council ~ By Bethany Monk

Angels Camp, C.A… Angels Camp City Council members selected Jack Boeding to replace Norm Price as the council’s newest member during its bi-monthly meeting Tuesday, Feb. 5. More than 30 people attended the 6 p.m. meeting at the Utica Power Authority building in Angels Camp just down the street from the Angels Camp Fire House, the council’s usual meeting location....

Newly Appointed City Council Member, Jack Boeding.......Angels Camp City Council members present an $800,000check from HUD to mayor William Hutchinson to help first-time home buyers.

The council also held a special meeting beginning at 4:30 p.m., where council members interviewed the five Angels Camp City Council candidates.

Other candidates included Craig Turco, Roger Neuman, Joe Darby and Bob Menary.

Earlier in the meeting, council members presented an $800,000 “check,” a federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant, to the city’s mayor William Hutchinson.

Each year, HUD awards grant money to each state to help low-income home buyers, homeowners and, in some cases, renters with their housing situations.

Calaveras County also received an $800,000 grant from HUD. County Supervisors presented the "check" to Calaveras County Administrative Officer Robert Lawton this morning during the board's weekly meeting at the Government Center in San Andreas.
