Jean Claire Simmons Lost Her Life in Saturday Collision on Tuolumne Road
Tuolumne, CA...On December 2, 2017, at approximately 1325 hours, the Modesto woman was driving her Toyota eastbound on Tuolumne Road, east of Westside Road, at an unknown state of speed. For unknown reasons, she allowed the right side tires to travel off the right side of the roadway and onto the gravel shoulder. She over corrected and turned the Toyota abruptly to the left. The Toyota traveled out of control across the eastbound and westbound lanes of Tuolumne Road and the front of her car collided with a dirt/rock hillside on the north side of the road. She was flown by air ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, where she succumbed to her injuries.
There was possibly a second vehicle involved in this collision which left the collision scene prior to CHP arrival. This collision is still under investigation. If anybody has any information, or witnessed the collision, we encourage you to call (209)984-3944.
