Jerry was one of those who made Mountain Ranch the great place that it once was.

Jerry was a real jewel; whenever I’d run into him somewhere in town he always had a smile on his face and some quick witted quip readied at the lip, followed by sincere conversation which he always took time to engage in.

He was a humorous, generous, even tempered gentle giant of a gentleman. His passing is a real loss to those of us who knew him.

Jerry was one of the few old timers remaining who were principle in making our great community what it had once been, a wonderful serene safe place to live, love and raise a family.

A community where seemingly everyone knew each other and no one escaped the obligatory nickname or “handle”.

The good old days of a horse or two at the post office and leaving the windows of vehicles down with keys in the ignition now seem like dreams that never were.

It was a pleasure knowing you Jerry!!!

Rest in peace Byrdman.
